We're talking about days that usually sync up with the federal holiday lineup, including the heavy hitters like Independence Day and Thanksgiving.
Now, these exchanges usually stick to the grind from Monday to Friday, kicking off at 9:30 a.m. and wrapping up at 4 p.m. Eastern Time. But, let me tell ya, they don't mess around on the weekends – no trading happening there.
And here's a little twist for ya: If a holiday decides to crash on a weekend, the markets might call it quits on the Friday before the big day. Good Friday and Easter often pull that move. Or, in some cases, they'll push the celebration to the following Monday.

The stock market generally follows its holiday schedule without any additional early closures, with the exception of the day before Independence Day, Black Friday and Christmas Eve, when the Nasdaq and NYSE close at 1 p.m. ET.
