Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, experienced deep frustration upon learning about Elon Musk’s twins with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, at the same time as the general public. This revelation came from an excerpt of Walter Isaacson’s upcoming biography on Musk, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. Musk and Zilis welcomed their twins, Strider and Azure, into the world just a few weeks prior to the birth of their second child with Grimes in December of 2021, and this caught Grimes completely off guard.
Grimes responded to Isaacson’s account with an X-post on a Sunday, in which she revealed that she had recently engaged in a conversation with Zilis about the situation, describing it as “long overdue”. In her post, Grimes expressed regret for her initial reaction, acknowledging that her emotions had gotten the best of her. She explained that communication about the twins hadn’t been handled very well in the past, but she had now gained a better understanding of the situation and had forgiven it.

Isaacson’s upcoming biography, titled “Elon Musk,” offers an intimate look into the CEO’s life in recent years. The book unveiled a previously undisclosed fact: Grimes and Musk had a third child together, also born via surrogate. Although the child’s age wasn’t disclosed, their name was revealed as Techno Mechanicus, affectionately known as Tau.
In her Sunday post, Grimes also briefly mentioned Techno and expressed a desire to share the child’s cuteness with the world. However, she emphasized that her current priority was to keep her children out of the public eye and urged everyone to respect her decision.

Elon Musk and Grimes have a son named X Æ A-Xii Musk, simply known as X, and a daughter named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, who prefers to be called Y. Together, they have a total of 11 known biological children with three different mothers.
Isaacson’s forthcoming book, set to be released on Tuesday, delves into not only the personal dynamics of Musk’s life but also sheds light on his behind-the-scenes decisions related to his Starlink satellite network during the Ukraine conflict. Additionally, it explores Musk’s perspective on the burgeoning field of generative AI.
